Market rallies despite surging oil prices.

Global markets followed a familiar pattern of rallying to start the week on hopes of an end to the Iran War, only to struggle ahead of the weekend. However, the early surge during the period was enough to snap a five-week losing streak for the major averages.

The NASDAQ dropped more than -2% at the open but as mentioned, investors bought the dip and rallied the tech heavy index back to the plus column in the first hour of trading.

The technical condition of the market deteriorated further last month as the major averages posted weekly losses throughout the period. The DJIA, S&P 500 and NASDAQ all closed below their respective 200-day moving averages and remain in clear patterns of lower highs and lower lows, with each bounce stalling below prior highs. The major averages had fallen back to levels from August 2025 before the surge to end the month.
