Our Performance

How accurate is Market Edge?

These charts show the current performance of the Opinions generated by Market Edge

At the end of the day, what really matters is how good is Market Edge is at helping you find the right stocks at the right time – which is at the root how accurate our models are at predicting the direction of a stock’s price. At market close, every stock we cover gets an Opinion, either Long, Neutral, or Avoid.

Long means Market Edge predicts the price will go up.
Neutral means Market Edge predicts the price has not moved.
Avoid means Market Edge predicts the price will go down.

Of the 3390 stocks we currently cover, 2102 have been given an opinion of Long, and Market Edge was correct on 1734 of those opinions. So currently, 82% of the stocks with a Long Opinion were correctly forecasted. The Opinions (LONG, NEUTRAL OR AVOID) are categorized by whether or not the stock is a Winner (the stock’s price has gone in the predicted direction), Loser (The stock’s price has gone in the wrong direction) or Pushes (The price has not moved). For reporting purposes only, AVOID is synonymous with short sale so that the Winners of AVOID stocks are the stocks whose price has gone down since the Opinion was generated. The average % change (% return) is calculated using the average number of days (average hold period of the opinions). The Maximum days shows how old the longest Opinion has been held in each category (LONG, NEUTRAL, AVOID).
